Brynjar Hoff met his devoted fans in November 2003 at his last recital/comeback. After nearly 8 years off the podium, he entered the stage of Gamle Logen in Oslo and his audience raved. A most challenging programme performed and played by a master! Hoff called this event his Mount Everest Expedition - and it was really unique what he did, start again from scratch must for one hello/goodbye performance. "It was worth it", he said after his huge success.

The comprehensive work program Brynjar Hoff for many years conducted, unfortunately caused serious physical wear, stress and calcification. He was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, especially in the shoulders and he had to operate both shoulders.

For health reasons, he stays abroad for longer periods in warmer climates - like Spain and Asia. His oboe is still his dearest travel companion.
